Educational loan from india

posted by Maria on Tuesday, May 20, 2008

I'm working in kuwait for past 2 years and had applied for an educational loan from india (10 lakhs) for studying MBA in UK, which got approved by the bank.

now i have to show the Proof of Fund to the UK Embassy( in the form of bank statement) for getting the student visa. i needed certain advice regarding it.

1. Should i let the money deposited in my Indian Bank A/c and show it's bank statement or would it be better if i transferred the money to my bank account in Kuwait and show it's bank statement to embassy instead?

2. Can i transfer 10 lakh INR from india to kuwaiti bank ? because i have heard that there are some restrictions placed by RBI regarding the amount of fund transferred overseas.

Anybody having similar experiences kindly share.
