Concerns about Declining Rate of Applicants for Visit Visa to Kuwait

posted by Abu Ameer on Monday, April 22, 2024

Dear IIK Readers,
I have observed regarding the decreasing rate of applicants for visit visas to Kuwait. It has come to my attention that the META platform for booking appointments to apply for visit visas is experiencing low traffic, indicating a lack of interest among individuals in bringing their families to Kuwait for short durations.
I believe that one of the primary reasons for this decline in interest is the limited duration of the visit visa, which only allows for a one-month stay. This short period is not sufficient for family reunions or for individuals planning to bring their families to Kuwait for an extended period. In comparison, Saudi Arabia offers multiple entry visas for family visits with a three-month stay duration, providing more flexibility and convenience for families.
The current one-month duration for visit visas in Kuwait poses significant challenges for individuals, especially newly married couples who may be planning to start a family. The limited time frame does not allow for adequate planning or accommodation for family members, leading to unnecessary expenses and logistical difficulties.
It is evident that the rate of applicants for visit visas to Kuwait is declining, with fewer individuals rushing to apply through the META booking system. This trend raises concerns about the impact on expats'' happiness and well-being in Kuwait. If this situation continues unchecked, it could result in further dissatisfaction and frustration among expatriates, ultimately leading to a decline in the overall quality of life for expats in Kuwait.
In light of these developments, I urge the relevant authorities to reconsider the current policies and regulations governing visit visas to Kuwait. By addressing the concerns raised by expatriates and offering more flexible and accommodating visa options, Kuwait can enhance its appeal as a welcoming destination for families and individuals seeking to reunite with their loved ones.
