whats wrong in shopping from sultan center.
See in border view -- remember there are lot of low salary people working. So if people stop visiting these places, lot of low level people will loose jobs. So whoever can afford luxury, use it. This is a cycle.
this is applicable to luxury cars, designer dress etc...etc..

That depends on your attitude. If you consider yourself a respectable person, you will never go to one of the showroom you mentioned in your last category for shopping. I went once to that hypermarket which is opening now in every nook and corner and I decided never go to that stinky place. Very foul smell and dirty place.

Each brand (sultan or lulu, oncost, carrefour.) exudes their objective in form of various some subtle n some direct features such as but not limited to Quality (exotic[like holland lettuce, thai chilles], texture, flavour, gloss, color, craftsmanship, style, country of origin, expiry sensitivity, etc), legacy (heritage), image in market, niche, shopping experiences (incld treatment), consistency, status, market penetration, relatability, appeal, proximity, & many more that may allure people'';s love for that Brand, thus Loyalty...n thus their permanent preference..
*Examples below r only for understanding the gist n not all life accounts encompassing"
"Example": While sultan center may cater for high quality almost all the time, it may not cover the taste of specific demography, still leading some high earners (or high-net-worth individuals) with disposable cash who consciously wish for highest quality to visit these places while some high earners wishing simpler quality but penchant for homeland ingredients "may" choose example lulu over sultan for they have better niche in homeland products catering expat.s homeland needs n close proximity... some may choose between but want experience n choose city center altogether....Some unbothered might choose jamiya... Nevertheless some from lower or middle social tier desiring status symbol may shift n choose visiting place that r frequented by high earners not just to fit themselves into higher social categeory but also to seperate themselves (create distinction) from lower category n earn social gratification..
Now in my opinion the above generalization "majorly" holds true for vehicle or property owning, garment, etc. segments not as much for hypermarkets (not to say it doesnt)...So if in desperate times any one (high earner or low) need mere food itm such as cucumbers they will buy them from next door baqala instead of going to supermarket let alone hypermarkets...
Nevertheless usually its is what people want from life that they have missout - people''s overall policy...while manageable proximity, availabilty, quality - people;s instantaneous policy....Brand tap into this mindset for those willing to pay a premium... Generally speaking....
*Premium brand by nature try to turn themselves hard-to-find (scarcity) n high priced, make their consumer yearn to accumulate these badges of honor (as though it is some kind of achievement)..

I always went to Lulu before to buy anything as it''''s clean and properly organised and not much queue like other hypermarkets. I hated Sultan because of long queues. I just went to Sultan center and to the nearby govt coop or highway for emergency purchases as its near to my house. I have found the grapes from Sultan center never had a fungus or bad tastes and most of the vegetables and fruits had better quality and offers. Govt coops are best to buy spinach, coriander and brown eggs, milk and chocolate milk powder, bread and local snacks and products as they are less priced and fresh. If you want take a ready to eat food and Indian snacks - Lulu has it. Also the chicken, fish and meat are good in Lulu. Highway and grand hyper - fresh vegetables are very good and have good offers. I choose highway if I want to purchase and come out faster. I become wise and choosing the correct supermarket when I go out to purchase. I started nowadays to go more to Govt coops, Sultan/Highway and very less to Lulu. At the end of the day, we need quality goods and where comes the family status. Everyone have their own preference and we have to live life for ours and not thinking what others will think. It''''s a pure psychological issues. And people showing their status by going to the big name shops are still not grown mentally and still they are kids.
