My child is in Salmiya Don bosco school. Principal announced last week that they received MOH inspection and got permission for 12 students per class and they requested for upto 20 stds per class as sitting arrangement in regular class offline, other 15 or 20 students will attend online classes. So this way they will start alternate days for the students and School is going to start in Aug 22 onwards.
This is what is their plan and information i have. Any other parents are welcome to comment on this forum, so we get to know more from other schools and their plans to open.

info came from Bhavans that they will be allowed to start offline classes from 16 Aug!!! Hike in transportation charges because only 15 kids per bus are allowed Parents are given an option to choose between online & offline. Many have chosen online because Aug is way to hot for kids to be attending classes at school. Sitting with a mask and gloves with social distancing is not possible by kids. Long timing of this particular school makes it even more difficult. Even their online classes are from 8 to 3

When experts are saying that third wave will be affecting children, this move by our schools will only lead to massive infections especially because our schools are over stuffed and very dirty. Its impossible to sanitize books and stationary everyday. Kids should receive vaccination before reopening

Yes totally agree with "a".
Kids need to be vaccinated before reopening of school. In fact its better to go with online classes for another few months until the cases start dropping . Dont experiment with the kids. They are precious to their parents.

Agreed
Kids cannot maintain social distance and all that, forget about self hygiene. We have already opted for online, no way Iam compromising on my kids’ safety. For schools, they r just roll numbers but for us they our whole world. Schools should open only after vaccinations are given

What is the point of offline classes when the child has to wear a mask, sit quietly in his place, not play with friends, stand faaaaaar away from his friends, taking extreme precaution before eating / drinking, wearing gloves and writing notes, trying to understand what a masked teacher is teaching and panicky parents rushing to hospitals if the child develops a fever or cough
online classes are better and easier than going through all this mess.

Send the kids to India. What is the point of keeping them in concrete jungle? Let them atleast breath clean air.

Worried Parent
Regular schooling must be postponed. Parents must be concerned about it. In my children''s school whatsapp group survey, almost all the children have agreed to go regular schools in Sept. Surprised how careless these parents are. It appears that they just want their children to go to school not staying at home. Wearing face mask all the time at school will cause trouble to their kids. Aren''t they aware of it?

I think there is no harm in sending kids to school here in Kuwait. The situation is improved in Kuwait and also vaccination is going with good pace. Parents who are concerned about sending their kids to school seems okay while they take them to malls and park.

@worried parent
Yes, it’s really surprising how some parents just want the kids out of the house. They compare going to a mall or park under parental supervision for 1-2 hrs to going to school for 7 hrs and more and sitting with a mask. Strangely, such people project themselves as perfect parents.

@Mother, senseless comment from you. Indirectly you are trying to say the school staff here in Kuwait schools which includes 90% ladies (and hence mothers) will not care about safety of kids learning in their classes? You are only the perfect mother.
Have you seen the progress of your kids for last one year during online classes? I have heard about kids which are in 4th and 5th classes but do not have that much confidence to give online written exam by their own. and even hundreds of working parents has requested school to change the written exam after their office timings are over.

@Rajat: dont know how its so simple for you. You compare taking kids to Malls and sending kids to school. The word ''taking'' and ''sending'' itself speaks the difference. After being at home for almost one and half year, anyway kids will have some sort of health problems while getting exposed to the weather outside, so parents will be more worried in today''s situation. So at least kids until std V or VI should be spared from these decisions.

@rJoy, We need to accept the reality and send our kids to school. This pandemic is not going to get completely over in coming 5-6 years. and about health problem, the pampered kids tends to have more health issues. So let kids to go out at least to schools and try to acclimate to changing world.
