Hello all,
My daughter is 5.5 year old, studying in UKG . Normally she speaks ok but sometimes she starts stuttering and struggles to finish her sentence or the word and then tends to repeat that sentence couple of times. This doesn''t happen everyday but I am observing this from around 3 months that it increasing. Please advice us with Indian doctors if available fort his issue or therapists who we could consult. And if any parent has a similar experiences please suggest me about how you tackled it. Thank you

Let her play / mingle with other kids. Inform their parents to instruct their kids to be sensitive / kind to her, on her stuttering.

My daughter had similar issue around the same age. She is 8 now and since last 2 years she no longer stammers. Monitor closely when she starts stuttering. i.e. Is she in anxiety to tell you something, confusion of words(due to learning different languages), craves your attention, etc.. My daughter had a blend of all those and we tried to dismantle it one by one at a time. I can completely understand your pain. Please do not complete sentences for her or leave her in an environment where she will be ridiculed (usually happens in schools/neighborhood kids) as this will hurt her confidence which will deter her development. In some children it usually fades by itself as they grow but in few cases it will continue. In case your daughter continues to stutter please see a speech therapist.
