Hi Mac,
Interested to know a few things, which might help others.
1. Which embassy you applied for a visa - France or Swiss. 2. What are the documents that you submitted for the visa process? 3. Fees paid 4. Within how many days the visa is granted.

Query
Hi Mac, Did you had a letter from employer stating period of stay & purpose of travel? I had lot of difficulties to obtain such kind of letter when I applied last year (Office admin wouldn''t give one). I just had a letter stating my leave period, that''s it and it worked finally. Also you stated "I got it in 3 months" is that the time taken to grant visa for visa validity period. Normally they given within 1 week. Good luck.

Better to buy cloths from here, as garment are very expensive both in France and swiss, relatively France is cheaper as there are all kind of people lives, but not in swiss, however, get your country and tourist map from the hotel, normally they give it during checkinn, and use metro services instead of uber and online taxis, they charge you too much, get the Louvre Museum ticket etc from the hotel itself to avoid long queue in front of museum, don’t pay any single penny to any charity activities or volunteers of any organization , mostly they are found near the Eiffel tower, just do a walk in the Champs-Elysées street but don’t do much shopping from this are since it is little expensive place, pick pocketers are everywhere in Paris, specially in metros, be careful, Piggale street is little dangerous, adult scammers may approach you in that street, Gare du Nord is an Indian street in Paris, you can get all Indian items there. use train or bus service to swiss from Paris, also can get cheap domestic flights/bus/train within 50 to 100 euros per pax. use go euro or omio website for domestic travel tickets. have a nice trip, enjoy...

1.) Better not go with this nCoV pandemic that too with toddler, uless u have made up ur mind. This may be false alarm but health communities have issued international red alert. Keep health safety as ur first priority. Also note it is 2-5 deg here, it must be freezing there, may be less by the time u go but heed.
2.) H&M, Northface (Boulevard, Avenues), Carbon Fiber (avenues), Patagonia (opp. Shuwaikh port area), Sun and sand (salmiya), Keep note that winter clothes might go off the shelf soon, coz season to actually buy winter clothes here have already finished.

Hi Mac,
I wonder how you can land in Swiss/French airports with a visa from the German embassy. Your first point of entry should be any German Airport if I''m not mistaken.
