No more amnesty for residency violators: pay fine and come back in a new visa or face a lifetime ban

The Ministry of the Interior will not give any new chance for the residency violators to rectify their status as four such opportunities were given during the Covid pandemic time considering its humanitarian aspect.

The authorities will continue their extensive campaigns to catch the residency violators, take legal measures against them, and deport them from the country at the earliest.

During the corona pandemic, Kuwait had given the excellent opportunity for all residency violators to rectify their status and leave the country without any fine, providing free tickets.

However, a large number of residency violators are still in the country. Currently, the number of violators is estimated at around 160,000. Many residents have obtained visitor visas for their families, but unfortunately, they did not adhere to the prescribed period and continue to live as illegal residents.

Those who are violating the residency law can now leave the country by paying a fine so that they can return in a new visa. However, if the authorities catch the violators, they will be fingerprinted and deported. Such expats will be banned from entering the country for life, and they will be denied entry to the Gulf Cooperation Council countries for 5 years.

Endless mistakes done while entering the data and printing civil ids by the officials such as wrong date of birth, wrong spelling of names, wrong names etc. and to rectify these mistakes, we have to waste a lot of time and duty hours, even though it is not our mistake at all. and if these mistakes are noted at the immigration counter, we are in serious trouble.

Many expatriates are not paid their salaries and their residence is not stamped by the Sponser and police force is instructed to deport them . No action has been taken on erring Sponsers , who are not paying the poor Labourers for their hard labour in clement weather conditions. What type of Justice is this? Indian embassy should take up the matter with Kuwait Government and find out a solution against this deportation, as majority of the deportation is due to the erring Sponsers. Is Indian Embassy only for keeping diplomatic relations ?
