‘Night and Day Happy Happy All the Way…’

‘Night and Day Happy Happy All the Way…’

‘Wishing you every Happiness in this New Year…’

‘May this year, all your dreams come true’

‘May this entire year be filled with happiness, good luck and joys…’

‘Wish you a prosperous and filled-with-happiness 2024…’

Beginning from the morning or afternoon of 31st December, our whatsapp chat walls and ‘inboxes’ will be flooded with wishes such as the above… The colors, GIFs, and pics in the New Year greetings could be different, but the wishes are and will be the same, as they are, year after year!

‘Loads of happiness… endless joys…success… dreams-come-true’ kind of wishes are, every year, repeated monotonously, and bombarded on all of us! Of course, we do the same…

But hey, who is able to recall after the first 15 days of the new year, that how many had wished and who had wished what…? How many of us take the received wishes seriously, and make equally intense efforts towards realizing them?

No, there is no harm in wishing for good things, but let us get a little practical too. A little realistic! It will save us from feeling downcast later… Has anyone lived a complete one year, filled only with lots of joys? In fact, how many of us remain truly and fully happy, all day long, even on that one day of January 1st?

From 2nd January onwards, the messages are forgotten, and sometimes---even the folks are, with whom they were exchanged. We get drowned in our routines… and feverishly resume this cycle of wishing love, happiness and prosperity---on the next important day/holiday/festival!

In every life, there will be day and night; the darkness and the light. We are fools if we wish just for the bright and the light… The bombardment of over-optimistic messages on every 1st January makes us despondent soon, when the new year turns out to be exactly like the previous one: a mixed bag.

Yes, it is important to wish; to spread messages and vibes of positivity; and to HOPE! But isn’t all that which we wish for others and ourselves seek---a MIRAGE; a list of unrealistic goals which will be unattainable unless and until we make the right wish for us and for others, and that one wish is: ACCEPTANCE!!!

Let us wish for ourselves and for others that we STOP LIVING IN ILLUSIONS…

NOBODY CAN HAVE A FUN-FILLED, HAPPY, PROSPEROUS (entire) YEAR!

NONE OF US ARE LIKELY TO SEE A WORLD ALWAYS FILLED WITH JOYS AND PEACE!

It will really help if we first learn to ACCEPT what we get; and FLOW with life, as it unfolds, layer after layer!

Wishing forHappiness Always at the advent of every new year is just a farce. Many of us are already getting tired and weary of this superficial messages-sending exercise, isn’t it? And THANK GOD, that our wishes such as:‘may all your dreams come true’ is not taken very seriously by God! Oh, what a dangerously chaotic world would we then have to live in!

The change in calendars does not mean anything, till some small little changes we bring in ourselves. And, will it not be nicer if we wish others, what we ourselves possess in the first place.

Some of us who are going about living life, filled with heartaches, or rage or envy or depression inside us, are wishing joys and total happiness to others. It is a kind of lip-service, isn’t it?

As 2024 dawns, let us remind ourselves and also our kids, that life will be just the same!!!

It will be a mixed bag: a little beautiful, but largely imperfect, since we ourselves are imperfect in this imperfect world. Let us get rid of as many illusions as we can. No year will either be just full of pain or filled with only joys. ALL OUR DREAMS WILL NEVER COME TRUE! And there, can never be total peace and only contentment in any heart.

We will have to try hard to ACCEPT what comes our way, and that particular year in which we are able to do more of it—will be a light and happy year, largely. It is never easy to EXPECT LESS, but if it is customary to send wishes on 31st---let us send a wish for this boon.

Let us wish for ourselves and our loved ones that may our hearts be lighter this year, and our self-images, brighter! With reduced insecurities and fewer expectations, and increased acceptance of the upcoming episodes of our respective lives---it could be an easy-going, manageable, and a largely positive 2024!!!
