Indian Doctors Forum celebrated its glorious 20th Anniversary at Jumeirah Beach Hotel on 10th May 2024.
Indian Doctors Forum is an esteemed association of Indians expatriate doctors in Kuwait. It was established in 2004. Since the inception, it is destined to humanitarian activities like conducting Medical Camps, Blood Donation Camps, Awareness Programs, Speeches, and Seminars. The philanthropic activities of the association are principally targeted towards the underprivileged population irrespective of nationalities. Its role in the torrid period of deadly Covid had been exemplary.
Along with its humanitarian activities, the Forum also carries out Sociocultural events, the biggest and most cherished among them is Docfest.
This year’s event was graced by His Excellency, Ambassador of India, Dr Adarsh Swaika. Among the guests, Sheikha Dosari, His Excellency Ambassador of South Africa and His Excellency Ambassador of Serbia, secretaries and officials of Indian Embassy and many eminent persons and dignitaries were present.
The evening started with National Anthem of Kuwait and India, followed by recitation of Holy Quran. After the Welcome speech by Dr Ashok Deb, the Jt General Secretary, the President of Indian Doctors Forum- Dr Diwakara Chaluvaiah explained the role of the forum. He thanked all the general members, executive committee members and office bearers for successfully launching the event in a very challenging situation. The Guest of Honour- H E Ambassador of India expressed his warm greetings to the members of forum and inspired them to continue their philanthropic activities. He emphasised the role of the doctors in the society. He believes that the bilateral tie between India and Kuwait would be stronger by means all such noble works.
Dr Fibisha Nidal expressed her pleasure to all the Guests, dignitaries and members of Indian Doctors Forum.
Thereafter the 19th issue of Health Guide of Indian Doctors Forum was released by His Excellency Ambassador of India. The topic of this year is “Travel Medicine”. Dr Radhakrishna Panicker, the chief editor, expressed his satisfaction for successfully composing the book which will be a very useful health guide for all.
Dr Ramesh Pandita, haematologist was felicitated on stage for achieving an exceptional landmark of receiving the award on his name from Ministry of Health for his outstanding works in the field of haematology.
This year the theme of the Docfest was “Glory of Ancient India”. A group of extremely skilled professional classical artists of Prabhath Kalavidaru from Bangaluru associated with the members and their families of Indian Doctors Forum presented a mesmerising Dance Drama titled “Bhavya Bharatha Katha” which showcased the Glory of Ancient India. Their presentation was witnessed and cheered by a huge audience which entirely filled the Badriya Auditorium. The group was awarded with memento.
Indian Doctors Forum is very much optimistic in launching some more Socio-Cultural events in future.
