Sarod Maestro Ustad Amjad Ali Khan enthrals the Kuwait audience

Sarod Maestro Padma Vibhushan Ustad Amjad Ali Khan enthrals the audience in Kuwait with his scintillating performance along with his sons Mr Amaan Ali Khan Bangash and Mr Ayaan Ali Khan Bangash during a performance at GUST University auditorium on Sunday, March 12th. The event was organised by Indian Business & Professional Council (IBPC) under the patronage of the Embassy of India Kuwait.

Ambassador of India to Kuwait, His Excellency Dr Adarsh Swaika and his wife, along with IBPC executives Mr Gurvinder Singh Lamba, Hon. Chairman, Mr Kaizer T Shakir, Hon. Vice Chairman, Mr Soly Mathew, Hon. Secretary, Mr Suresh K P, Hon. Jt. Secretary, Mr Sunit Arora Hon. Treasurer inaugurated the event. IBPC Chairman Mr Gurvinder Singh Lamba welcomed the audience. Ambassador, in his inaugural remarks, said that Ustad Amjad Ali khan is a pioneer in taking Indian culture abroad.

The event was attended by large number of audience, including over 30 Ambassadors from various countries, diplomats and Kuwaiti and Indian guests.

The Sarod trio, along with Mr Anubrata Chatterjee on Tabla, truly mesmerised the audience throughout their performance. It’s a great opportunity for me to perform in Kuwait again after a long year," Sarod Maestro said. He started his mesmerising performance with Raag Desh, took the audience through the folk tunes of West Bengal and Punjab, and concluded his beautiful performance with a south Indian raag.
