In a move to ensure the safety lane remains clear for emergency vehicles, the head of the Traffic Awareness Department at the General Traffic Department, Lieutenant Colonel Abdullah Bu Hassan, announced stringent penalties for those misusing emergency lane.
He urged drivers not to drive or park in the safety lane, emphasizing that it is strictly reserved for emergency vehicles. The surveillance cameras are actively monitoring violators to ensure appropriate penalties are enforced.
He also advised drivers whose vehicles experience sudden breakdowns or emergency stops to promptly move their vehicles away from the safety lane.
