Starting from next week, traffic violation ticket will be send to the violators via text message instead of paper slip. General Traffic Department Officer of the Awareness Department, Major Abdullah Abu Al-Hassan, announced the starting from next week, the issuance of paper based violation will stop gradually and all violations will be send to the violators via mobile app or text message electronically.

The traffic policeman will release the fine via the wireless device he uses in his work. The fine will come to the violating person through a text message via mobile.

This is part of the department’s initiative of paperless office and several such initiatives are in pipeline as part of this strategy, sources said.
