With the amnesty deadline approaching, authorities have confirmed there will be no extension. A massive security campaign is set to launch after June 17 to apprehend all law violators.
Brigadier General Mazyad Al-Mutairi, Assistant Director General of the General Administration of Residency Affairs, stated in an interview with the local Arabic daily Al-Rai Newspaper that strict actions will be taken against residency law violators and those who shelter them. Comprehensive measures are being prepared to deport these individuals from Kuwait and ban their re-entry.
Following the amnesty deadline, extensive campaigns will be conducted across all governorates and within companies employing illegal workers. Violators will be arrested, fingerprinted, and deported. Investigations will be conducted to determine their employment history and those who sheltered them. Offenders will face a lifetime ban from re-entering Kuwait and the GCC, in accordance with security agreements.
"The time for leniency is over. Violators will be dealt with firmly and severely," Brigadier General Al-Mutairi emphasized.
