NBTC announces construction of 25 Houses for their employees

For the second consecutive year, the largest and popular corporate group in Kuwait NBTC will construct houses for selected 25 employees of the company. The Partner and Managing Director of NBTC group Mr K G Abraham inaugurated the second phase of their ‘Home For Homeless' project by handing over the first instalment to 25 employees at their corporate office in Mina Abdulla.

Under this scheme, 25 of it’s financially weaker employees will get a financial support for constructing their own home. The company will give a total of 2500 KD for each of them to construct a house. "We will release the money according to the progress of the construction. They have to finish the construction within one year time," said Mr K G Abraham. The company also provided technical support by giving them structural design layout. This facility is given to those workers after reviewing their financial background and the service history with the company. The worker should have a minimum of 3 cent land on their own. The money will be given to construct the house.

Last year, as part of the 25th anniversary of NBTC group, Mr Abraham mooted this idea of "Home For Homeless" by constructing new houses for the employees of NBTC. Last year, the company financially funded the construction of 31 houses for employees. This year also the company selected 25 workers.

NBTC Group with total employee strength of 21,000 employees in Kuwait is one of the largest corporate group in this area. Around 80% of their employees are of Indian origin. "We only look at their economic background and we never check their nationality or religion for providing assistance," Mr Abraham said. This year financial assistance is given to people from India, Pakistan and Nepal.

The company also provide various other facilities to the workers including scholarship for students of their staff, employee insurance scheme etc.

I have worked with NBTC for 3 years. Left the organization due to personal reasons. But from my experience am telling they are the best in the market. Even though work schedules are little hectic and you can feel the family atmosphere there. I still remember when I had an emergency situation to travel to India, they brought my passport and flight ticket to my accommodation place. It was on a Friday and I salute NBTC for such humanitarian considerations. Definitely I will join back, if I got a chance in future.

By observing such type of employee support initiatives, my respect on NBTC as an efficiently managed organization is increasing everyday..

Its true that NBTC Management is setting an example in Kuwait for other Companies to follow it model CSR initiatives.

This total amount of approx 1.5 Crores IRS could have gone easily in to the pockets of its owners... even it is a small amount , it requires really a big heart to distribute to their employees and its a highly appreciable initiative.

Congratulations to the sincere and dedicated employees who were shortlisted and selected among the 22,000 employees in the company. You are also setting an example for your other fellow employees to follow your path and hardwork.
