This month, our school had organized an educational trip to the Kuwait Flight Simulation Centre (KFSC). When the teacher announced about the trip everyone were delighted, but keep wondering what store for us. We were strictly instructed not to carry any electronic gadgets. On 21st of January the school bus dropped us at the Discovery Mall, First Ring Road, Kuwait city.
Getting down from the bus, we were amazed to know that this is the first and largest Flight Stimulation in the world. We found that the flight simulators are a replica of the real flights. We were informed that it offers an opportunity for inspiring, developing and interacting to improve the navigational skills for the young aspiring pilots. All were fantasizing whether we will get a chance to drive the jets.
We met the captain and the air traffic controller instructor of the KFSC who taught us how to operate the simulators.. At first, we were divided into groups of 5 people. There were 2 modes flights- the jet planes and the normal planes. And… here comes …our dream come true .We started operating the jets like a pilots.
In the normal mode we had to land the plane which was a tough job to do. In the jet plane mode, the seat was attached to a joystick. So if we move our joystick, the jet would move along with it. In this mode, we had to defeat our enemy’s plane which is an awesome feeling. After trying both the modes, we had a break.
Later we saw a short movie based on the history of planes; the types of plane made before the successful Wright Brothers etc. The movie also presented the biggest disaster caused due to helium gas and also about how planes were useful in the World War 1 and World war 2.
After the end of the documentary movie a quiz was conducted based on the movie. We were surprised to know that the plane driving, quiz and the crossword puzzle were part of a competition at the end of the program. My group (along with my friends) we won the second prize. The gift was a “15 minutes free play time with unlimited number of people”.
I would like to thank our school, and the KFSC for giving such a wonderful experience in our life.
