IES Bids Farewell with Blessings to its Outgoing Grade 12 Batch

‘With hope in their hearts and dreams in their eyes, they step into a future awaiting their greatness, guided by the loving blessings of their alma mater.'

The graduation ceremony for the outgoing batch of Grade 12 students at Indian Educational School was held on Thursday, 15th February 2024 with great enthusiasm and solemnity. The event, graced by the esteemed presence of N.K. Ramachandran Menon, Chairman of Bhavans Middle East, and Ms. Anselma Tessy, Senior Vice Principal of Bhavans Kuwait, marked a significant milestone in the academic journey of the graduating students.

The momentous event commenced at 5:00 pm with the rendition of the Kuwait National Anthem, followed by the recitation of a few verses from the Holy Quran by Ms. Raeda Aijaz Baig of grade12E. A soulful prayer, composed by Headmistress Ms. Muneera Mammikutty, invoked blessings for the graduating students as they embarked on their new endeavors. Mr. Binoy Mathew, Vice Principal of IES, extended a warm welcome to the august gathering, emphasizing the precious milestone that the day signified in the academic journey of every student.

In his special address, Mr. N. K. Ramchandran Menon, Founder and Chairman of Bhavans Middle East, blessed the students and reminded them to honour the efforts and sacrifices invested by their parents in providing them with an excellent education. He advised them to keep in touch with their parents throughout their life. While speaking to the children on exam preparation, the Chairman underscored the importance of getting sufficient sleep during the examination period. Proper rest he said, rejuvenates the mind and body, enhancing cognitive functions such as memory retention, concentration, and problem-solving abilities. He further emphasized the importance of maintaining composure and not allowing panic to interfere with problem-solving. He encouraged students to stay focused and composed as it would enable them to tackle challenging questions with confidence and perseverance.

Mr. Anand Victor, Principal of Indian Educational School, Kuwait, also showered the students with his heartfelt blessings. He encouraged them to remain focused on their journey and to have confidence in the greatness of their potential, as well as in the blessings of their parents and teachers. With the uncertainties and paradoxes of life in mind, he urged the young minds to cherish the special occasion, which their parents had joined them to witness and share.

Ms. Meenakshi Nayyar, Senior Vice Principal of IES, congratulated the students on reaching this milestone, a testament to their relentless pursuit of knowledge and commitment to excellence, and wished them a bright future. She expressed appreciation for the support of the parent community and the dedication of the teachers, while also motivating the students to seize every challenge in life as an opportunity.

Reflecting on their journey with the school, Ms. Salma Iliyas Khan, mother of Zara Imtiyaz Mahadiwala of grade 12A, Dr. Aparna Bhat, mother of Ashutosh Bhat of grade 12B, Ms. Sumol Thomas, mother of Darren Varghese Domini of grade 12C, Mr. Jayasankar N. S, father of Niranjana Sankar of grade 12D, Mr. Umesh Chandra Panda, father of Abhipsa Panda of grade12E, and Mr. Hariharan Kalyan, father of Anju Hariharan of grade 12F, expressed their appreciation for the efforts of the management and teachers in shaping their children into respectable and confident individuals. They acknowledged the school's provision of holistic education and a nurturing, secure environment. Representing the student community, the prefects of grade 12, Zara Imtiyaz Mahadiwala of 12 A, Joel Bittu of 12 B, Urvi Kalal of 12 C, Ann Mathew of 12 D, Shambhavi Dhargalkar of 12 E, and Livia Maria Saji of 12 F, expressed their gratitude as they shared their fond memories of school life.

The students were then presented with mementoes along with their examination hall tickets by the Chairman and members of the Senior Leadership Team, symbolizing their transition from students to responsible individuals ready to face the challenges of the future. In true Bhavans’ tradition, amidst the surreal glow of candlelight, the young graduates took the oath administered by the principal and bowed their heads in reverence as he prayed blessings upon them for the forthcoming CBSE Board Examinations. This was followed by the unveiling of the class photograph by the Chairman and the Principal.

The program was skilfully anchored by Ms. Sindhu Ashok, Head of the Department of Biology, and Ms. Preethi K. Nair, the school counsellor, who ensured a smooth flow of events and kept the audience engaged throughout the ceremony. Ms. Aliuska Lawrence, the Coordinator of Grade 12, concluded the ceremony with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all who contributed to the success of the event, including the faculty, staff, parents, and guests.

The graduation ceremony served as a poignant reminder of the collective achievements and aspirations of the graduating class, marking the beginning of a new chapter in their lives filled with promise and opportunity. With immense faith, the Bhavans family looks forward to the bright future of its young stalwarts as they emerge as responsible global citizens, upholding the values and realizing the vision of the school.
