PPF Kuwait Conducted Annual General Meeting 2024

PPF Kuwait Hosts TRANSCEND '24. AGM Elects New Leadership and Seeks Reinstatement of NEET Exam Center in Kuwait.

The Progressive Professional Forum (PPF), Kuwait convened its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on February 16, 2024, at Hotel Crowne Plaza, marking a significant moment for the organization as it elected its new office bearers for the upcoming term.

The AGM, attended by members of the PPF community, showcased the democratic spirit of the organization as it engaged in passionate discussions about various activities and later unanimously elected a new leadership. Among the key highlights of the meeting were the new initiatives proposed to increase PPF Kuwait’s activities, foster professional growth, and advance progressive ideals in Kuwait's professional landscape. The AGM elected a 25-member executive committee of passionate individuals committed to driving the PPF's mission forward.

Echoing the concerns of students and parents in Kuwait, a resolution seeking that Govt of India reinstate the NEET Exam Centers outside India including Kuwait, was unanimously passed in the AGM. The decision to withdraw the test centers outside India by the NTA (National Testing Agency) has left many NRI families grappling with uncertainty and financial strain, members of the AGM stated. The challenges faced by NRI parents are multifold including the exorbitant airfares and logistical hurdles associated with traveling to India are aggravating the situation. This needs to be immediately rectified.

Following the protocols, the new executive committee met and elected its new leadership team. For the term 2024-26, PPF Kuwait will be led by Prasanth Warrier (President), Shaji Madathil (Secretary), and Sreejith Palakkurishi (Treasurer). Adv. Smitha M. Kumar as Vice President, and Jithin Prakash as Joint Secretary form the complete team.

Accepting their new roles, the new office bearers placed on record their gratitude and thanks to the outgoing executive team led by President Adv. Thomas Stephen and Secretary Sherly Sasirajan for their valuable contribution and inspiring stewardship.

Following the AGM, PPF Kuwait opened its doors to the wider public with the much-anticipated talk show, TRANSCEND '24. Every year, TRANSCEND provides a platform for industry leaders, policymakers, and visionaries to come together, share insights, and chart a course toward sustainable growth and prosperity.

Hormuzda Davar, Managing Director – Trading, Manufacturing & Financial Services of Al Mulla Group was the guest of honor. Sharing his inspiring journey as a career professional filled with nuggets of growth of Al Mulla exchange, Davar emphasized the relevance of “being more professional” in today’s rapidly changing world.

Dr. Jafarali Parol, a renowned scientist with KISR, delivered an insightful talk on “Artificial Intelligence” that won a lot of audience appreciation for the delivery of a complex subject in a simple language.

Naganadhan. R, Loka Kerala Sabha member, addressed the audience and urged them to actively partake in the welfare schemes of NORKA and the Kerala Government.

An E-Magazine was released by Riju Antony, representing the silver sponsor, SPETCO, to commemorate the occasion. The e-magazine serves as a testament to our collective commitment to transcending boundaries, overcoming challenges, and empowering Indian professionals in Kuwait. PPF Kuwait gave prizes to the winners in different categories of the M.I.C.K.E.Y. (My Idea Can Keep Our Earth Young) Contest and complimented the students for their innovative thinking.

Shaji Madathil, the newly elected Secretary, delivered an overview of the various webinars undertaken by PPF Kuwait and its wide-reaching outcome. The event further honored Dr. Noble Zachariah, Adv. Rajesh Sagar, and Mujeeb Patla for their contributions through PPF webinars held in 2023.

The event was coordinated by Dr. Anila Albert as master of ceremony and concluded with a vote of thanks by Prasanth Warrier, Convenor of TRANSCEND '24, and a sumptuous dinner.

The guests and audience were unanimous in their view that TRANSCEND '24, organized by PPF Kuwait, brought together a diverse array of voices, including thought leaders, professionals, and members of the public, to explore innovative solutions, share inspiring stories, and envision a future built on collaboration, resilience, and progress.

With yet another edition of TRANSCEND, PPF Kuwait underscored its commitment to promoting inclusivity, diversity, sustainability, and intellectual exchange as catalysts for positive progressive change in Kuwait and beyond. As the newly elected leadership assumes their roles, PPF Kuwait reaffirms its dedication to empowering professionals, fostering a culture of innovation, and contributing to the advancement of both India and Kuwait's society and economy. The new leadership invites all progressive-minded professionals to explore and be a part of the Progressive Professional Forum in Kuwait.
