Have you ever heard about this quote 'Honesty is the best policy'. Well this motivating and inspiring quote is said by Benjamin Franklin. He described qualities of honesty and integrity throughout his life. Honesty tells us what is right and what is wrong in one's role, one's behavior and one's relationships. A person who practices Honesty in his life, owns a strong and well built moral character.
Honesty makes a person fearless, disciplined, speak truth, be punctual, and help others. While those who are dishonest and say lies are always afraid because of their behavior. Those who are honest never fear the punishment but those who are dishonest always think about the punishment. Honesty gives us courage to do the right thing even in hard situations. I would like to share my experience of being honest in my class. When I was in 2nd class, Mrs Shabana Ma'am asked me about who was playing and shouting in the class. It was my friends Rishal and Naffi who were shouting and playing in the class. Now, I had to make the decision, whether I would tell the truth or save my friends. It was a hard moment for me, but finally I decided to be honest and tell the truth. By telling the truth my friends Rishal and Naffi were angry with me but they also learnt a lesson of not disturbing the class.
Lying and cheating might help us to win, but once a person lies then he has to tell more lies to keep the lie safe which he told first. Lie is also known as dishonest, untruthful, false, untrue, falsehood, etc. I would also like to tell a quote about lies "Don't lie about anything ever as lying leads to hell".
Honesty makes a strong relationship between family and friends. It provides courage to tell the truth no matter what the situation is, because truth overcomes the lie. Parents should teach their children to tell the truth when they lie and make them a good citizen. Honesty is not just telling the truth all the time, it means not to hurt others by doing wrong things and saying lies. Integrity and Nobility are the important principles of honesty. It tells about being responsible and dedicated to your duty. Often, I used to tell a lot of lies, but soon it got caught up by the teacher and I used to get punished. Telling the truth in front of everyone is very hard but we have to try to say the truth. Truth can be sometimes bitter or unacceptable but it is divine and always remains the same. No one is perfect but we can try to be perfect by being honest and telling the truth.
Honesty is considered as the greatest and most extraordinary human virtue. Sometimes, truth can be punished but in the end those who say lies will be punished and those who said the truth will be rewarded. Lastly, I would like to say a beautiful quote which impressed me a lot "The pursuit of truth and beauty is a sphere of activity in which we are permitted to remain children all our lives" by Albert Einstein.
