AMUOBA Conducted Democratic Process to Elect the new Executive Council

The ALIGARH MUSLIM UNIVERSITY OLD BOYS’ ASSOCIATION (AMUOBA) conducted its 5th democratic process to elect its new executive council. The election was held in SIMS Salmiya on 15th December 2023.

This election is a testimony of the association’s believe in democratic setup. It gives chance to everyone from among the alumni to be a part of association and to serve the Alig fraternity at best.

AMUOBA Kuwait Chapter in this process elected AMUOBA office bearers for the next two consecutive years 2024 & 2025.

The election was held under the able guidance of Chief Election Commissioner Mr. Jamil Akhtar and his team comprising of Election Commissioner Mr. Shoeb khan, Mr. Abdul Hakeem & Mr. Arsalan. AMUOBA appreciates the efforts and are grateful for them for conducting the elections impeccably.

This election for the tenure 2024 & 2025 witnessed a different mood of the alumni, they opted to elect almost all the office bearers unopposed except for the chair of Vice President. Around 200 Alumni turned up to elect the Vice President. The competition was tough, there were two contender to claim the Vice Presidentship Mr. Tariq Waseem and previous VP Dr. Iram Chaudhary.

The election process was properly organized, kudos to the EC members for all the arrangements made, be it the verification process, demarcation of voting area, Election Commission dedicated desk and waiting areas etc., the refreshments and lastly the dinner. The arrangement of the event was guided by Mr. Aslam Parvez and it was well coordinated by the team members including:

Mr. Nadeem Iftikhar, Mr. Asif Equbal, Mr. Taqui Hasan, Mr. Masroor Alam, Mr. Kashif Husain & Mr. Ahmad Imroz.

Besides there were polling agent at the verification counter Mr. Siraj Ahmad Khan & Mr. Akmal Ahmad Khan who did the job efficiently and effectively.

The election process was completed in a very professional, conducive & friendly environment and the outcome of the election was in favor of Tariq Waseem who was elected as Vice President.

Alig fraternity congratulated elected VP - Mr. Tariq Waseem, and wished all Executive Council members for a successful tenure ahead.

The office bearers for the tenure 2024-2025 who will be serving the association are, the Chair holders the President Mr. Aslam Parvez (second time elected for the Presidency), Vice President Mr. Tariq Wasim, General Secretary Mrs. Shazia Mansoor, Jt. Secretary Mr. Mohammad Khurshid Anwar, OSD Mr. Yusuf Abdullah, Dy OSD Mrs. Talat Fatima.

Besides Eight (8) Executive Committee members are:

Mr. Adil Sareer, Mr. Mohammed Asim Khan, Mr. Maqsood Habib Khan, Mr. Shahanawaz Siddiqui, Mr. Tauqir Ahmad, Mr. Masood Alam, Mr. Ali Adnan & Mr. Mohammad Shahid Ali.

Recognizing the efforts of the previous team & a very successful tenure, many of the previous team members were elected unopposed primarily the President - Mr. Aslam Parvez as his tenure was well organized & appreciated by the Alig fraternity in Kuwait.

The President Mr. Aslam Parvez in his speech expressed thanks to the Alig fraternity in Kuwait for their belief in democratic set up & their gracious presence in huge numbers for the successful electoral process. President further expressed gratitude for the extended opportunity to serve AMUOBA and pledged professionalism, commitment and assurance for a dynamic teamwork for the association’s tenure 2024 & 2025, focusing on educational, literary, cultural, social & community welfare activities within the guidelines & framework of Indian Embassy in Kuwait.

May we at AMUOBA keep on following the path laid by our founder Sir Syed Ahmed Khan.
