Do what you love & love what you do: A Career Counselling Session at Carmel School
A Career Counselling session was conducted by Carmel School Kuwait on 18th November, 2023 for the students of Grade X. It aimed at empowering students by providing insights and guidance to achieve their professional goals.
The session began with an introduction to the facilitator, Mr. Christopher Pereira, a seasoned Training Consultant with experience of more than 27 years.
Mr. Pereira began by giving an introduction to his extensive career and his journey to success. Students were engaged in introspection through a Myers-Briggs test worksheet, enabling them to analyze their personality traits. This helped the students to identify their strengths and choose a potential career path.
Mr. Pereira seamlessly incorporated anecdotes, motivational videos and success stories to captivate students’ imagination and foster a forward-thinking perspective.
The essence of the session was to encourage the youngsters to pursue a career which would align with their interests and passion. Emphasizing the importance of pursuing passions, his motto, “Do what you Love, Love what you do”, resonated with students. He also shared practical tips and tricks to help students identify interests and tap into their potential.
The impact of the session was evident as students actively participated in a dynamic question and answer session, seeking personal advice.
Mr. Pereira’s approach and actionable insights equipped students with the tools needed to navigate their individual careers.
The session concluded with a heartfelt, vote of thanks by Amanda Rejo, underscoring the positive reception and appreciation of the students.
