My second home KUWAIT

India and Kuwait have a strong and friendly bond that has existed since ancient times. Historically, Kuwait was an important trading hub between India and the entire Gulf region. The relationship between the two countries has further been strengthened in recent years due to the large number of expatriates from India who have settled in Kuwait as well as by means of trade offerings. Kuwait and India share friendly ties Kuwait houses a large expatriate Indian population and is the source of 10-12% of India’s oil imports while India is among the most significant trade partners in Kuwait. Before the discovery of oil, Kuwait's economy depended heavily on maritime activities and trade like ship-building, pearl diving and fishing. Until 1961 the Indian rupee was the legal tender in Kuwait. During the Covid-19 pandemic period, the Indian government sent a 15-member rapid response team. Kuwait also provided medical assistants to India.

Indians in Kuwait remit over US$3 billion annually to India. Kuwait is home to 300 Indian associations and 18 Indian schools affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi

The existence of many well-known personalities from Kuwait and India living in Kuwait is a testament to the strong bond between these two nations. As citizens of both countries, they have always expressed their appreciation for each other’s positive characteristics such as friendliness, hospitality, warmth, and helpfulness which are common among Kuwaitis and Indians living in this small country. The positive associations with each other have not only created a sense of community among Indians living in Kuwait but also it has resulted in an atmosphere of acceptance for their culture and heritage. Kuwait is often referred to as “My Second Home” by members of Indian communities residing here. I love KUWAIT
