India - A Shining Gem of the World

The freedom that was given to us by our valiant freedom fighters who gave their blood to pave way for a brighter future. During the past 75 years we have kept our freedom like the most valuable treasure. And in the past years we have added more and more jewels in it, and it is now a bundle of shining light. When see these accomplishments, we feel that the independence we received was fully and truly worthy. The Indian constitution is the greatest accomplishment of our nation and is the largest written liberal democratic constitution in the world.

As India is celebrating its 73rd republic day, the nation takes pride of itself for gaining innumerable achievements and is now very prominent amongst other nations. Compared to the past, India is at its peak, attaining many accomplishments and overcoming multiple obstacles. In all the fields India has made significant contribution be it space, technology, literature, science, sports etc. 2022 had been a wonderful year for India, especially in sports. And I hope that 2023 will be a much greater year for India.

“We fought and never gave up; dedicate this medal to COVID warriors,” –the heart touching words of our incredible hockey captain - Manpreet Singh from Tokyo.

During COVID era, the Olympics games medals achieved by our young talents filled our mind with joy and glory. While the pandemic was ravaging us, Indian athletes gained medals, touching the hearts of the fans who couldn’t watch the match live from the stadium, but they won and made our Nation proud. On 23rd July 2021, when Magnificent Mary (Mary Kom) and Manpreet Singh carried the Indian national flag during the opening ceremony, the 1 billion plus minds were filled with eagerness and joy. Our athletes, raised to the expectation bagging a total of seven medals in Olympics and 19 medals in the Paralympics. Thus 2021, also became the most successful Olympic and Paralympic year for India in its history.

Not only in the Olympics, But also in other sports events also India bagged many medals such as in the commonwealth game. Our strong athletes came back with 61 medals and secured 4th position in terms of medals. Another great victory for India is the Thomas cup, which India won for the first time in 2022. The Indian women’s hockey shook the whole world as they defeated Spain at their home ground to win the FIH Hockey nations cup. And there are even more achievements that our resilient and enthusiastic athletes won. The sports field of India has produced many energetic and proficient minds who used their energy and time for gaining the gleaming victories for our nation.

Not only in sports, India also earned many achievement in science, technology and space. The planned launch of Gangayan is one of the India’s largest and futuristic space mission. Our intelligent scientist’s contributions are inexpressible. Their smart and innovative minds have created many new inventions that has benefited this world.

When we see these achievements done by our Indian brothers and sisters, we feel proud, a patriotic spirit enters our heart, we feel the fragrance of victory, and we would roll our fist and place it on our heart with honor and pleasure. The shining jewel of the British crown is now a shining gem of the world.
