Impact of Technology on the Younger Generation

“Technology cannot replace great teachers, but technology in the hands of great teachers can be transformational.”

Today’s modern life is surrounded with tech products. The technology has been growing up for quite some time and has now become an important part of our day-to-day life. Technology has brought many great inventions and blessings to mankind. It certainly has great impact on people of all fields and ages. Yes, it has much greater impact on children as well. It is an undeniable fact that everything has its own positive and negative aspects and so in the case with technology.

Technology has proven to be a very useful tool in education. Children can access the web and get detailed knowledge about any topic which they are studying at school. The educational shows helps them to perform well in their academics. Nowadays, it is very true that all kids like to play video games. While playing such games with their friends and relatives, they can learn competition skills. It also helps them to compete with other children in real life. If used correctly, technology can aid a child’s development in a variety of ways. Technology helps children to improve their communication skills if a child spends his/her time accessing e-Books from the Internet. It also helps them to have a broader view of what’s happening around the world.

In contrast to these positive impacts of technology, there are more of negative impacts on children. The surveys that are conducted from time-to-time tells us that due to the increasing use of gadgets, many children across the globe are suffering from problems like back pain, weak eyesight, headaches etc. Due to less physical activities, obesity is quite common in children nowadays. Technology has posed a very bad impact on their social relationships as well. Many children are getting addicted to these gadgets. They don’t have time to sit down with their parents and to spend some good time with them. No doubt that it has badly exploited the child’s character. Due to the increasing use of technology, children are going away from their moral values. Internet is working as a curse for children. Rather than using it in a productive way, children are using it for wrong things.

By now, it is quite obvious that technology has more negative impacts on the younger generation than the positive ones. By having a closer look at the critical factors and by limiting the involvement of technology in children’s life, we can bring an end to all the negative impacts as listed above. Technology is a very useful tool for child’s development and education. Therefore, it is highly necessary for us to use technology in the right way and not misuse it for a bright and beautiful future for our nation’s development. Technology can become the wings that will allow the educational world to fly farther and faster than ever before-if we will allow it.
