Kuwait market is expected to import 10,000 Naimi sheep from Jordan before Eid Al-Adha and the first batch with 800 sheep is expected to arrive the country soon.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Al-Wawan Livestock and Animal Feed Trading Company Menawer Al-Wawan said that the sheep will enter the country through Abdally border for the first time since 1990.
Kuwaiti market often suffer from sheep shortage, especially during Eid Al-Adha -- the animal sacrifice season; hence, the need for alternatives, he said.
To guarantee ample supply during this period, the company is also planning to import more sheep from Turkey and Syria as well, which in turn will reduce prices by at least 15 percent, he said.
