Super Hit Konkani Movie ‘Noshibacho Khell’ made dhamaaka during Konkani film festival

The much awaited Mangalurean Konkani movie 'Noshibacho Khell’ finally arrived in Kuwait and won Konkani peoples heart. The film is directed by Bollywood-Bhojpuri-Marathi fame Harry Fernandes, written and produced by Henry D'Silva Suratkal, under the banner of Kanarites Youth Association, Mumbai Films Pvt Ltd (KYAM) was screened in Kuwait during Konkani Film Festival on Friday, February 26 at the American International School, Auditorium, Maidan Hawally.

The Goan Cultural Centre Kuwait, in association with T-Bush International Films and Konkani Community of Holy Family Cathedral, presented the first ever Konkani Film Festival in Kuwait featuring 6 Konkani movies on February 25 and 26. The films screened incorporated a strong cast of talented actors and actresses who easily charmed the audience with their extraordinary performance.

The movie started with short introduction by compere Lydia Misquith. Ambassador of India to Kuwait H.E. Sunil Jain, The Goan Cultural Centre Kuwait president Carmo Santosh and T Bush Rebello were welcomed to the stage with flower bouquets by Abbasiya Konkani Families Kuwait President Ronnie Fernandes. They spoke few words on film festival wishing bright future for Konkani Cinema. Local priests Fr Noel D'Almeida, Fr Franco, Fr Xavier were present during the occasion. Fr Noel D'Almeida, Henry D'Silva Suratkal and lead actress Ester Noronha spoke few words on the movie.

Noshibacho Khell producer Henry D’Silva Suratkal, Ester Noronha, Nachom –ia Moga Kumpasar producer Glen Baretto, co-producer Simon D'Silva, Swapnil Shetkar – director of 'Home Sweet Home2, lead star John D'Silva, producer of NIRMON Nilesh Newalkar, Armando Fernandes, Producer- writer- director of BIG BEN Mark de Araujo, Martin Alfonso, Ramdas, host Gaspetr Crasto, Co host Anjali, Carmo Santosh and T Bush Rebello were felicitated with momentoes by HE Sunil Jain. Gulf Voice of Mangalore Season 5 winner Joyline Gonsalves was honored with flower bouquets.

The two and half hour film 'Noshibacho Khell' with a story of triangular love between Cynthia (Ranjitha Lewis), Johnson (Elton Mascarenhas) and Sophia (Ester Noronha) along with the perfect mix of comedy and twists in the story succeeded to fulfill the expectations of audience. Along with professional actors Ester Noronha and Prince Jacob, debutants Elton, Ranjitha and Clenwin D’Souza in a negative have excelled in their acting and proved their potential to emerge as the promising artistes. In general the movie was praiseworthy and appreciated by all audience.

With many positive reviews, all the films selected for Konkani Film Festival have so far met with resounding success and received acclaim for their portrayal of the rich musical heritage of Goa and Mangalore. The screened movies were as follows.

Big Ben (February 25): The ‘BIG BEN’ Konkani movie, written and directed by Mark de Araujo is apparently based on the adversities and lifestyle of Goan’s based in UK, and their influence on families back home in Goa. The movie explores into a number of interesting things about living in UK.

Nirmon (February 25): Directed and written by Sripad Pai and produced by Nilesh Newalkar and Armando Fernandes, the official remake of the 1966 film Nirmon. Set in the 21st century the film retains its old charm, albeit with a new cast, screenplay and dialogues.

Home Sweet Home – II (February 25): The film Home sweet Home 2…Now the game will be rough, is a sequel to Home Sweet Home. Directed by Swapnil Shetkar, the first movie was about the land grab scam in Goa. With the sequel making a statement on the politicians and their role in ruining Goa.

Enemy (February 26): Enemy, produced by A. Durga Prasad and directed by Dinesh P. Bhonsle is Film with an award winning string attached. In the midst of the festive season, a Goan Catholic family discovers that they have lost their property to the Government and their family honor is at stake.

Noshibacho Khell: (February 26): Directed by Harry Fernandes Barkur and produced by Henry D’Silva Suratkal. Noshibacho Khell, the Mangalorean film is revolving around the story line of rural life, love and mystery.

Nachom-ia Kumapasar (February 26): 'Nachom-ia Kumpasar’ is a Konkani feature film – a tribute to Goan Music and her legendary musicians. Creating an strong niche and buzzing the Konkani world with acclaimed international awards. Narrated through the emotional roller coaster of a love story destined to tragedy, it celebrates Goan music through the eyes of its prodigiously eclectic generation of musicians in the 1960s and 70s.

It was a golden opportunity for Konkani audience of Kuwait to witness 6 Konkani movies which was first ever venture by The Goan Cultural Centre Kuwait in association with T-Bush International Films and Konkani Community of Holy Family Cathedral which should be highly appreciated.
