While addressing the nation on the occasion of the 74th Independence Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said the nation now needs to move forward with 'Make for World' mantra along with 'Make in India'.

"Today, many big companies are turning towards India. We have to move forward with the mantra of 'Make for World' mantra along with 'Make in India'," he said while addressing the nation from the ramparts of the Red Fort.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Saturday that three vaccines against coronavirus are in the testing stage in the country and it is geared up for mass production once there is a green signal from scientists.

Addressing the nation on 74th Independence Day from ramparts of Red Fort, the Prime Minister also talked about the steps taken to increase the number of labs and production of protective equipment to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

He said when coronavirus broke out, there was only one testing lab in the country and the number has now gone up to 1,400.

PM Modi said that a few months back, India used to import N-95 masks, PPE kits and ventilators but is now extending help to other countries.

Prime Minister hailed people in the frontline of the battle against coronavirus, saying "corona warriors have lived the mantra of 'Seva Parmo Dharma' and served the people of the country.

Prime Minister announced the launch of the National Digital Health Mission during his address to the nation. "National Digital Health Mission will bring a new revolution in the health sector in India," the Prime Minister said. "One Health ID will have the information of every test, every disease, which medicine was prescribed to you by which doctor, what the reports were," Modi added.

This is also a day to show gratitude to security personnel including that of Army, paramilitary and police ensuring our safety," PM Modi said. Prime Minister also remembered freedom fighter and spiritual guru Sri Aurbindo (Arvind Ghosh), on his birth anniversary.

Amid border tensions with China, Prime Minister said that Indian soldiers gave a befitting reply to those who tried to pose a challenge to the country's sovereignty, from the Line of Actual Control (LAC) to Line of Control (LoC).

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that more than one lakh households are getting water connection every day under Jal Jeevan Mission. "Last year, I had announced the Jal Jeevan mission from the Red Fort. Today under this mission, more than one lakh households are successfully getting water connections daily," he said while addressing.

Prime Minister said that education has a key role in the making of self-reliant, modern, new and prosperous India, and the new education policy will instil new confidence.

The government will soon unveil a new cybersecurity policy. "Within next 1000 days, over 6 lakh villages will be connected with a fiber-optic network; we will soon unveil a new cybersecurity policy."

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that a committee has been set up to reconsider minimum age of marriage for women and appropriate action will be taken after a report is submitted.

Prime Minister hailed the commencement of construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya and added that "the conduct of people of the country has been unprecedented and is an inspiration for future." "10 days back in Ayodhya, the construction of a magnificent Ram temple in Ayodhya started. The centuries-old Ramjanmabhoomi temple issue has been settled peacefully. The conduct of people of the country has been unprecedented and is an inspiration for the future," Modi said during his address to the nation. The Prime Minister further said that this "peace, unity and goodwill would be the backbone of Atmanirbhar Bharat" in the coming days.

Earlier, Prime Minister unfurled the national flag. On his arrival in front of the Lahore Gate of Red Fort, Prime Minister Modi was received by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and Defence Secretary Dr Ajay Kumar.

The Prime Minister then inspected the Guard of Honour. The Guard of Honour contingent for the Prime Minister consisted of one officer and 24 men each from the Army, Navy, Air Force and Delhi Police. The Guard of Honour was positioned directly in front of the national flag across the moat below the ramparts.
