Legal action against coop. societies not providing consumers

Minister of Social Affairs Maryam Al-Aqeel said Thursday she would take legal action against any cooperative society failing to provide consumers' needs.

Al-Aqeel, also Minister of State for Economic Affairs, said consumers could call hotline: 9111-1071, to report any complaint about shortage in goods, and that she would follow these complaint and take necessary legal action.

She called on cooperative societies to reach out to relevant government departments to provide necessary food stuff and vegetables.

Al-Aqeel said the government departments were keen on removing all obstacles derailing provision of goods in cooperative societies nationwide.
