Kuwait Cricket Conducted an Official Photoshoot Ceremony

Kuwait Cricket conducted an official photoshoot ceremony on Tuesday 16th of January of the Kuwait Women's Team that is going to participate in Thailand International Ladies Tournament 2018 in Bangkok (Bilateral Series) from 18th Jan - 26th Jan.

The ceremony was conducted by Umer Slahuddin, senior marketing executive at KC and was graced by KC Executive Council Directors led by Mr Sajid Ashraf, Mr Harshith Vora, Mr Rishi D Jayan, Mr Robert D'souza, Mr Mehboob Khan & Mr Naveen D Jayan as well as senior & junior coaches Mr Ghayoor Ahmed & Mr Mohammad Tahir Khan.

Mr Mehboob Khan, Director of Women's cricket along with Mr Sajid Ashraf, had the honors of unveiling and giving away the playing jersey of the Kuwait Women's team to Captain Amna Sharif. This was followed by all directors handing over the playing caps (a prestigious moment for any cricketer) to the entire women's team.

Mr Sajid Ashraf emphasized that "the year 2018 is going to be a game changer for the women's team with active and equal participation in all domestic tournaments as well as equal nets & practice time at Doha & Sulaibiya grounds respectively in the newly built nets facility and to have an International tournament participation in the form of a bilateral series at the beginning of the year is an ideal start for the ladies".

Mr Mehboob Khan was thankful to the entire executive council members for all the support provided to ensure the women's get maximum preparation and practice time and is confident of the team putting up a good show against Thailand A & Thailand B.

The tournament will see Kuwait Women's team take on Thailand A & Thailand B Women's team as part of its overall development program to strengthen the skill set of its active core players and to further increase the awareness and exposure of the game amongst the girls / women of Kuwait.

Kuwait Women's team has been doing exceptionally well over the past few years with a few of them going on to become regional stars whilst having the potential to be recognized globally.

Former captain Maryam Omar is one such name who has recently moved to Australia in pursuit of higher studies and is continuing to make Kuwait proud down under by representing her university and high profile domestic clubs in significant cricket tournaments.

Current National Captain #AmnaSharif supported by Vice Captain #PriyadaMurali along with #Sabreen #Khadija #Maria #Maryam & #Varshini have all got serious potential to make their presence count not just in Thailand but also region wide.
