Popular community portal IndiansinKuwait.com and Kuwait Indian Chess Association (KICA) have jointly conducted a Rapid Chess Tournament at Gurukul Auditorium, Salmiya on 22nd November 2018.

It was the debut chess event organized by the team and the first tournament with a participation of more than 100 players from India alone. It was an ‘Open’ category tournament and allowed participants from all countries.

It turned to a highly notable event due to the presence of huge number of participation.

To congratulate the winners, a special function is arranged on 28.11.2018, Wednesday evening at Gurukul, Salmiya. All winners will be personally invited to this function. Trophies, cash awards, certificates and gift vouchers are included in the prize list of winners and participants.

Chess is the most silent game in the world which enjoys all people regardless of age. Playing chess improves the concentration, creative skills, planning ability, memory power, problem solving proficiency and ultimately the IQ of players. Throughout the world, many schools are started including chess in their curriculum. Chess is one of the best medicines for elders who suffer from Alzheimer’s.

KICA president Sony Francis said that many of varied chess events are planning to be conducted in future with the active support of Indians in Kuwait and Gurukul.
