Being One is the Best Privilege, Having One is the Best Blessing

I would like to begin my article by wishing all the teachers around the world a very Happy Teachers Day. A role model is a person who inspires and encourages us to strive for greatness, live to our fullest potential and see the best in ourselves. We learn through them, through their commitment to excellence and through their ability to make us realize our own personal growth. We look to them for advice and guidance.

And my role model and is my teacher-Mrs. Rupa Ma’am. She plays a huge role in my life.

Rupa Ma’am is the kind of teacher you wish you had. She is funny, sharp and simply has a way with words.

We all were born with dark eyes, unaware of the world ahead. We didn’t know anything and teachers are the one who taught us everything. Motivated us to write and study. Not only they make us study but also teach us moral values to become a better person. Rupa Ma’am took me from this shy, corner-sitting girl to the person I am today. She motivates me by encouraging me to discover new ideas. She asks me questions on what I did not grasp well. She still continues to motivate, inspire, and encourage me in the best ways she can. And I think I’m not the only one whose life has been influenced by these great heroes, labelled under the term ‘teachers’.

There is nothing ‘wrong’ with teachers. Each teacher is special, in his or her ways. They treat each child with their own methods, even though there are almost 35 kids in each class. Even after all this pressure on their shoulders, you never see teachers detest us. That is one of the reasons you mustn’t badmouth or go around talking behind the backs of teachers. Because at the end of the semester, you’ll feel sorry to see them go.

A teacher is a friend, philosopher and guide who holds our hand, opens our mind, and touches our heart. The contribution of a teacher cannot be ignored at all. In many countries across the world Teachers Day is a special day where the teachers of school, colleges and Universities are honoured specially. The date varies from country to country. But the universally accepted teachers’ day is celebrated on 5th September. In India, teachers’ day is celebrated on 5th September and this traditional started from 1962.

This is the when Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan was born. Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan was the first Vice President of our country and the second President of India. He was a scholar, philosopher, teacher and a politician. We remember the great work of this exemplary person on this day.

He used to love his teacher very much and when he became president of India, some of his student and friend requested him to allow them to celebrate his birthday on 5th September.

He replied, “instead of celebrating my birthday it would be a proud privilege if September 5th is observed as teacher’s day”. From then on words, we celebrate every year 5th September as teacher’s day.

A teacher stands as the backbone of the student in their life. The teacher teaches us to walk on the right path by carrying the right things. A teacher is the second parent of the students. We all have grown up and now understand their value in our lives and can’t imagine a beautiful future without their guidance. A good teacher will punish us as well as will love us.

A Teacher is someone who acts as a guide and inspiration to people – both young and old. He/she is charged with the responsibility of creating awareness as well as opening the mind of people by instilling values, morals, and ethics. They shape minds, and we annually celebrate their contribution to the development of society in the form of Teachers’ day across the world.

Teachers play an important role in the development of any country. This is why it is vital to set aside a day when the teachers are given the recognition they deserve. We celebrate Teachers’ day to honor the contribution of Teachers in our lives. Duties undertaken by teachers in the upbringing of children are immense and thus being recognized with teachers’ day is a step towards recognizing the profession and the role they play in society.

Teachers are an essential part of our life. We would never find our inner talent if it weren’t for teachers. All the talented personalities found their forte of expertise with the help of teachers. Teachers light that small spark of motivation within you which then turns into raging fire all the way to success.

Never underestimate the willpower of a teacher. One day, he or she might be the cause of your success.
