Ban on entry of non-Kuwaitis to the country extended

In a surprise move, after all confusion about opening of direct flight from India and other countries, DGCA on Saturday night issued a new circular to extend the ban on entry of non-Kuwaitis to the county until further notice.

A lot of confusion was prevailing for the last two days regarding the entry of expatriates to the country starting from 21st. In its circular on Thursday, DGCA said that all arrivals from "high-risk" countries must go 14 days hotel quarantine and other 7 days hotel quarantine starting form 21st.

In a new circular DGCA said that it will continue not permitting non-Kuwaitis to enter the State of Kuwait, only Kuwaitis and their first-degree relatives and accompanied domestic workers will be allowed to enter the country.

All arrival passengers must register in Kuwait Mosafer platform and must have negative PCR certificate issued within 72 hours. All passengers must have 7 days hotel quarantine followed by 7 days home quarantine and should undergo 2 PCR test

This is not the first time Kuwait MoH surprised all expats, it''s the third time now giving surprise to the stranded expats. It''s high time someone should take stern and firm decision to allow the poor stranded expats to return. Kuwat''s MoH keeps repeating the same old surprises all the time due to COVID-19 spread increase. If they (MoH) don''t want the expats to come, don''t give vain expectations to expats who have already wasted a lot of money for air-tickets, hotel reservations and PCR test at homeland and at the last minute take decisions which are against poor expats. Those who take last minute decisions should step in to the shoe of an expat and experience the pain and loss which he/she undergoes. Just imagine if a Kuwaiti citizen faces the same scenario elsewhere in the world how would he/Kuwait govt. react. Expats are not coming free in to this country, they are paying for all the facilities in advance and after all these hardships, expats are just dumped in the garbage in the last moment. Why don''t these guys inform them at least a week beforehand so that expats will not loose their money and time? Poor planning and decision making by Kuwait MoH authorities.

For Kuwaiti citizen there is no need of Hotel Quarantine. Govt. should do thier pcr test and after negative result should allow Kuwaities to Strict home quarantine. Poor Expatriates are suffering stranded in other GCC countries. Please arrange to bring on special flights and if they are negative depend on thier capacity let them stay in hotels. Govt. can give this quarantine centers managment to private hospitals after fixing tarrief. so that the pressure on govt. employess can be reduced.
