As Indians we all should be proud of our nation for many reasons. The first thought that comes to my mind is gaining Independence through various noble acts of freedom fighters.

When we think of Freedom fighters of India of course every Indian mind thinks of Gandhiji and rightly so. He was the man who stood tall in all situations and led the nation to Independence. It is worthy of giving him respect and salutes. Now any great event especially a historical event like gaining Independence of a country should have contributions from many other noble souls earlier too. So too India’s Independence comes from sacrifices and noble acts from great souls across the nation and culminated to what happened to on 15-August 1947. It is good we know about such great souls from different states in India and give a standing ovation to all these heroes who stood up and fought for the Independence.

This Independence struggle will be remembered as long there is life on Earth as one of the most marvelous events that ever took place on the Earth – with its non- violence approach.

Now this kind of unique cannot happen by some magic. It should have roots deep enough to be pulled off. That is what exactly India is. It is a known fact that many conquerors came to India, stayed in India, plundered its riches, destroyed some of its heritage sites, employed our own country men in our own country as laborers to do various works, used our country’s resources for their well being and their country’s wellbeing. With such treacherous rulers for centuries, India today stands tall in the world. This cannot happen without the deep-rooted culture India has.

There is brain drain occurring in India in large numbers in present times. But is this affecting its growth? No.. it is still growing to greater heights. We have progress in all fields of science and technology, medicine, engineering, agriculture. The list is endless. Even in film making Indian films are one of the most sought after for entertainment purpose. We Indians have those deep roots in us and most of us do just what it takes to be strong and independent. This individualistic approach in each of us is shown in large scale as India’s growth and progress. This cannot happen but for that deep rooted dedication each of us have.

Along the timeline in History there will be crests and cusps for every nation. That does not define a nation’s identity. India too had its highs and lows. The fact that so many conquerors came to India shows that India has attracted them for its wisdom, culture, natural wealth which the conquerors plundered to their benefits. But India did not fall. It just rose up like a Phoenix. This cannot happen just like but for the deep-rooted respect we have towards our rich past.

Lastly, my friends, come what may, our India shall grow to greater heights and shall continue to be a formidable nation among the world and the whole world will be looking up to India for direction to be a safer and peaceful place on this Mother Earth.
