Literacy undoes more injustice than we can imagine.

Let us look at the wide range of global issues that has one simple solution: Literacy.

Literacy against poverty:

Lacking basic reading and writing skill is a tremendous disadvantage as literacy not only enriches an individual's life but it creates opportunities for people to develop skills that will help them provide for themselves, their families and their communities.

Literacy the foundation of a developed country:

The positive knock-on effect of educating people can be seen in the wider social and economic benefits yielded for communities. Increasing the emphasis towards women's education positively impacts on each generation through increased self-esteem. Improving literacy facilities employment whereby both males and females can contribute, helping the wider economy and community to thrive.

Literacy Improving infant mortality rates:

Literacy directly affects an individual's health and wellbeing, so the importance of education on physical health is vital.

Literacy empowers women and girls and all those considered vulnerable: Breaking the cycle of illiteracy and improving self-esteem is crucial for women and girls in the developing world. The importance of education is fostering personal autonomy, and creative critical thinking skills is central to helping girls contribute to their societies.

Literacy is therefore a weapon of a person, the weapon of a community and that of a country!
