Kuwait Chapters of ICAI and BDK organize a Blood Donation Camp

The Kuwait Chapters of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) and Blood Donors Kerala (BDK) arranged a Blood Donation Camp at the Kuwait Central Blood Bank (KCBB) in Jabriya on Thursday June 30, 2022.

The KCBB was established in May 1965. It has been an accredited member of the American Association of Blood Banks since 1989 and is the only blood bank in Kuwait which is operated by the Government of Kuwait.

This Camp was organised on the eve of CA Day and Doctors’ Day, both of which are celebrate on July 1 each year. It was attended by eighteen members of both bodies. The donors registered with the KCCB, underwent a brief medical checkup by the KCBB’s doctors and then went on to donate blood. The donors were then provided with certificates and enjoyed delicious refreshments.

ICAI, Kuwait is a professional association of Indian Chartered Accountants with a strength of more than 500 members and its objective is to provide its members with professional and social networking opportunities. It regularly conducts continuing professional education programmes and various sports and social activities for the benefit of its members. Membership is open to all Indian Chartered Accountants. BDK is a voluntary blood donor's organisation with services available throughout India and the Middle East which brings together voluntary blood donors and those in need of blood onto a common platform. The Kuwait Chapter maintains a vast database of regular donors with various blood groups who are connected through WhatsApp Groups and are ready to donate periodically and at any time in response to requests and for emergencies. Since its inception in May 2016, the Chapter has donated around 6,000 units of blood and platelets to KCCB through blood drives and in responses to emergency calls from hospitals in Kuwait.
