The Dark Side

They say, sometimes the darkest secrets of man, are buried deeper than his grave.

The Internet, a boon, a blessing, a revolution in the steps towards development. It has changed the lives of the human race, for the better!

But everything, has a dark side.

The internet, is a maze, a maze of mystery. Like the iceberg, most people are just at the tip, not many have reached the deepest of the deep.

The Dark Web. Familiar to some, home to a few. Dread, misery, torture? Drugs, human trafficking, murder.

It’s all there, standing to what humans do when… there are no rules.

Scary isn’t it? That your data might just be flying in the hands of the sellers, drawing bets on every move of your life like you’re a toy. That right now… someone could be watching you.

RED RUM. Spelled backwards gives us, MURDER. Inspiring the haunting, red rooms.

Torture and death carried by the worst of human kind in real time, live. Daisy’s destruction. A case so gruesome, was pronounced as an urban legend, a myth of the internet. Yet… it was real, unfortunately.

Humanity, disgusting, selfish, cruel. Why? Why is this what defines humanity? Is this what people have become?

Infants, children, the purest, the most innocent. What could these little minds do to someone? Why? Why are they tortured? WHY?!

Peter Scully, as a good of a complete monster as any, one of the world’s worst pedophiles. His most infamous and notorious output was a video, titled Daisy’s Destruction.

It contained footage of some of the most severe physical and sexual abuse on underage girls, all coaxed for a better future, to be beaten and raped several times, the three main victims being Liza (aged 12), Cindy (aged 11) and Daisy (aged 18 months). Cindy being found dead and buried shabbily in the kitchen, after being strangled.

Viewers paid $10,000, to watch such cruel footage. It’s… so disturbing that there are even such people who want to watch such torture. It seems impossible to even keep faith in humanity anymore.

One cannot even imagine just how much pain and trauma those little girls must have faced, the guilt and regret their parents must have gone through. How could one- I cannot do anything but plea god from the bottom of my heart, that they find happiness in their lives.

Being a girl myself, I cannot comprehend just how much they suffered. It brought me to tears that girls all over the earth are facing such cruelties. With all my soul, I wish misery and pain greater than what those innocent girls faced, to their perpetrators. To all those people who have encouraged such abuse and watched such torment. May they rot in hell.

I don’t know how many will read this or how many felt something, even pity, for these girls. Just imagine, if you’re a little girl and all you want is food to satisfy your dying hunger and education to pursue your dreams. And someone comes along promising you food, education and a better future only to be tortured and raped multiple times? Not knowing when the ordeal would be over? Not knowing if there ever would be a time when you weren’t in pain? After being in such amounts of trauma that death seemed appealing?

Is this what one wants to do to someone? Put them in such pain that they prefer death? Or watch them go through such agony for… pleasure?

On the terrible night of 16th December 2012, a dynamic young woman pursuing medicine, was brutally gang raped leading to her death. What hurt me most was that the men, who inflicted such suffering upon her, seemed just like normal people and not some crazy psychopaths. It would have hurt less if they were just psychopaths, but they were just ordinary people.

On being interviewed, the real problem wasn’t the perpetrators themselves, but the society and how these rapists are brought up to think women are like the dust on their shoe, making them think that they can do whatever they want, with them.

She pleaded with the doctors to save her, keep her alive, she wanted to be a doctor. It broke my heart into so many pieces, I couldn’t help it but just… stare, stare at what humanity had become.

All that I can do now is to request you all, to stand up, spread awareness and educate the youth on these issues. We need to put an end to this vicious cycle of crime, passing this scourge from one generation to another. And for all the victims, speak up. I know it’s tough, but I also know you’re strong. You’ve come this far and kept it all in and I have mad respect for your tolerance. But you don’t need to anymore. We care for you and we love you. Remember we’re always there to help you. Stay safe. Stay strong.

Together we shall rise against crime!
