3'rd International Yoga Day Celebrations in AIS, Kuwait

Art of Living Association celebrated the 3rd International Yoga Day on Wednesday , 21st June at American International School Maidan Hawally along with millions of people who celebrated it all over the world. Over 200 Yoga enthusiasts joined to do Yoga following the Common Yoga Protocol designed by Ministry of Ayush , India.

His Excellency Shri Sunil Jain, Indian Ambassador to Kuwait and First Secretrary and Head of Chancery Shri Krishnan Kumar Pahel participated in the event and inspired the audience.

The event started with the welcome speech by President of the association Sri Satish Shetty followed by Felicitation of dignitaries. Yoga Dance was performed nicely by a team of dancers of all ages. Participants watched the introductory message given by the Indian Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi regarding the importance of spreading yoga all over the world to bring all people together and live in harmony.

Then the yoga lovers jointly did warmups and yoga asanas following the Yoga Protocol. The event was then continued by a live and interactive video session with a Senior Yoga Teacher Sri Dinesh Kashikar from Art of Living India who taught pranayams and meditation. Several doubts about yoga were clarified in the Question & Answer session.

The event was concluded by felicitating the members of other associations who joined hands together with the Indian Embassy for spreading the message of Yoga for Peace and Harmony.

International Day of Yoga is celebrated annually on 21’st June since its inception in 2015 which was declared unanimously by the United Nations General Assembly on 11’th December 2014. That was the first time when 177 nations unitedly joined hands and voted for a Yoga Day to be celebrated all over the world.

Ever since its inception of IYD , Indian Embassy Kuwait has been organizing the International Yoga day events every year in association with various organizations in Kuwait.
