Fasting during the month of Ramadan

Monday, March 20, 2023

Fasting during the month of Ramadan is an obligatory practice for healthy adult Muslims.

During the month of Ramadan, Muslims fast from sunrise to sunset every day of the lunar month.

Muslims fast for a period of 30 days. Fasting healthily in Ramadan is possible if the correct nutrition and lifestyle adjustments are made.

We know Ramadan is a very busy time so most of the Muslims tend to cut back on sleeping hours to make more time for good deeds which is amazing, but make sure you’re getting a minimum of 6 hours of sleep daily. The Ramadan fast can be an effective and natural way for the body.

Most Muslims who fast during the month-long Islamic festival of Ramadan do so under direction from the Quran, but those who abstain from eating, drinking and smoking during daylight hours may also experience health benefits as a result.

All dates and times are subject to the sighting of the moon, but this year’s Ramadan is expected to start after sunset on March 23, 2023, and end on April 23.
The difference between Ramadan and total fasting is the timing of the food; during Ramadan, Muslims basically miss lunch and take an early breakfast and do not eat until dusk.

One of the odd nights in the last 10 days of Ramadan is called the night of power when angels descend down, and take the prayer of worship to God for acceptance.
Fasting is a special act of worship which is only between humans and God. Fasting brings all Muslims, rich or poor, together. Fasting during Ramadan puts every man and woman in a certain routine, teaching discipline.
