SUKRUTHAM - 2021  Blood Donation Drive

Kannur Expat Association(KEA)in co - operation with Blood Donors Kerala(BDK), Kuwait Chapter, organised a blood donation camp at Adan blood transfusion center on 10 September, 2021.

The camp was inaugurated by Dr. Sajna Mohammed, vice President of Indian Doctors forum, Kuwait. She was so impressed by the good work done by KEA, she herself donated blood, which was a motivating factor for the other donors. She also expressed her appreciation for KEA members donating blood especially during this pandemic. She was of the opinion that only people with social commitment could do this great act. This event was organised as part of Onam celebration and also to commemorate 60th year of India-Kuwat diplomatic relationship.

KEA President Sherine Mathew presided over the function. It was followed by a welcome speech by Santhoshkumar, Vice president, KEA. While the chairperson Jayakumari, Advisory member Dominic, Manoj Mavelikara (BDK) spoke on the occasion, Sheril and Rohit sang songs to energise the donors. Sherine Mathew(KEA), presented a memento to Dr. Sajna Mohammed and for BDK, Santhoshkumar gave away the memento. As an appreciation for taking such a brave step during pandemic, RajanThottathil(BDK) presented a memento to KEA.

Dr. Sajna Mohammed gave away certificates to all the Blood Donors.

The members who took initiative to organise onam celebration were Anju, Roshi, Praseena, Roy,Shaheer,Deepu and Biju. The surprise of the day was the presence of Mahabali and variety of payasam.

BDK volunteers Beena, Jolly Jinju, Ani, Nalinakshan, Deepu, chandran, Kevin, Martin,Venugopal, Kalesh require special mention in leading the camp.

The KEA President expressed her heartfelt thanks to all the sponsors, BEC, Calicut Live Express and Badar Al Sama, for their support in making this event a great success.

Jitin Jose (BDK) thanked KEA for organising the Blood Donation camp.
