Kuwait - My second home

Monday, February 19, 2024

They say the time would soon come when I would have to leave Kuwait, but I always shed a tear when I hear it, because this is the place where I have spent my childhood. It is here I first opened my eyes seeing my lovely parents standing in front for the first time, and my brother struggling to have look at me. Celebrating my 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and many more birthdays. My first day of school where I stat to learn and make new friends, years passed I got know about the people of Kuwait, their customs and traditions and everything else. But that’s not all, rather it’s the time, I have spent with my family in Kuwait than any other part of the world. The moments I cherish in the desert, riding desert bikes staying in a chalet in the middle of desert with my family and friends. I can feel the cold desert breeze enter my body while enjoying the ride.

I still remember the day I played pranks with my friends and especially on teachers when we planned to hide her register book in one of our bags it was fun for me at that time and I having a hearty laugh. But, at the end I ended up sitting in the principal’s room and had to wait till my parents had to come and pick me up from the office. But all these will soon be over and it would be for me to leave this country leaving all my memories behind. My old friends, my favourite teachers, my school, and last of all my second home – Kuwait.

My parents know that I am disappointed at this decision. But they say its time for me to start new life where I can study and get a job to earn a living. It’s the day for me to go….

I may or may not return but I will never forget the days spend here, and now I see myself standing amidst a crowd waiting to leave this place with a heavy heart and go somewhere else, where I will meet new people in a new place.

The clock has struck; its time for me to bid goodbye to my second home – Kuwait.
