Kuwait-My First Love

Tuesday, February 21, 2023

“Kuwait is a small country in the middle east”, people say. But to me, it is not a country but an emotion. It does have a big heart for it is home to more than a million ex-pats. Saying it is like my second home is not wrong. Like our homes, all of us feel a sense of security in Kuwait. The hospitality has made us feel at home.

Kuwait has a special place in our hearts. Especially for those who were born and brought up in this incredible country. We all feel an emotional connection. The magnificence of Kuwait cannot be expressed through words but can only be experienced by the heart. Mere words are not enough to describe its bewitching beauty because of the fear that you would miss out on something or the other. It looks like a beautiful dream and feels like it is out of the movie. The beauty looks too good to be true. The more I think about it the more and more I feel nostalgic reminiscing all the recollections spent here and many more upcoming.

The beaches of Kuwait have a beauty of their own. The sea line is so captivating that many a times, it alters into a place of solace and calm. It is one of our favourite places for family picnics and day outs, creating the warm memories of splashing water, laughter and freedom that can never be forgotten. The picnics spent in the regions of Wafra and Kabd have and will always have a special place in our memories. The rain during the winter adds extra spice to its beauty. It’s the best time. And the winter breaks are a bonus to relish the beauty of nature when the yellow and purple sea of wild flowers, blooms on the brown desert sands.

The food! What can we say about the food? The aromas of the sheek Kababs, Tikkas, hummus, falafel and many more are a pleasure to taste and their names are enough to bring water to our mouths and craving to our hearts.

The tall high-rise buildings of excellent architecture contradict the idea of a desert. From the tallest building Hamara Towers to the iconic Kuwait Towers, the buildings showcase the culmination of traditional Arab beauty to the modern hi-tech of the future.

It is funny how we all came under the spell of magic cast by Kuwait. The magic is so strong we can never erase it from our hearts and mind. I feel I am lucky to witness this Wonderful country of riches since childhood. It's so funny to think how we all came from different nations of totally different ethnicity and have now embraced and adapted to the culture of Kuwait that we can never forget and feels like our own.

Just reeling through the movie captured by the camera of our mind, doesn’t it make you fall in love with Kuwait? It did for me. It cast a strong spell on me that no matter where I am, the memories of Kuwait will keep floating in front of my eyes. The more I tell others about Kuwait, it is very common to lose contact with time and get lost in its wonder. Like our first love with a person can never be forgotten similarly my first love with Kuwait, I can never forget it and its memories will be forever etched within me. I cherish every moment of Kuwait in my life.
