Kuwait’s 1st Satellite and Kuwait India relations in field of space

Monday, February 20, 2023

This year’s first Tuesday, 3rd of January was a great day for Kuwait, it’s leadership, citizens and expatriates.

Kuwait successfully launched its first satellite KuwaitSat1 into space and created a history in field of space.

KuwaitSat1 was launched aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket from cape Canaveral Air Force Base in Florida USA.

It was result of past three years’ efforts by Kuwait’s National Space Project team and Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences.

Having launched the first Kuwaiti satellite (KuwaitSat-1) into space, the national space team of Kuwait is embarking on a second project.

Kuwait has relations with India also in field of space. In April 2009 Kuwait institute for Scientific Research KISR delegation visited India.

Furthermore, a delegation from KISR visited India in May 2015.

In 2016 Union Cabinet apprised of (MoU) between Department of Space/Indian Space Research Organisation (DOS/ISRO) and Kuwait Institute of Scientific Research (KISR) on cooperation in the exploration and use of outer space for peaceful purposes.

I am proud of my second home beloved Kuwait’s great accomplishments in field of space and wish more success and prosperity and more strong bonds between both countries.
