The Miraculous Desert of Kuwait

Wednesday, February 17, 2021

Kuwait is a tiny country situated in the tip of the Persian Gulf. It is a country rich in oil supply. My father came to Kuwait in the year 2007. He was seeking for job opportunities fit for an electrical engineer since he could find none in India. He immediately found a job in the sector of oil and gas. My mother & I came to Kuwait when I was 2 and a half years old. Unless you count going to India for vacation, I have been in Kuwait till date. I consider Kuwait as my own country.

In all my 8 years in Kuwait I have visited many places of interest; however, the one that has attracted me most is the vast desert in Kuwait. I stayed there for 2 hours and at one point to my fortune [& to my mother’s misfortune] we saw a rattlesnake, the rattlesnake’s scales shone bright under the sun but to my utter disappointment my family made me back off from the snake since my little brother was terrified. We saw much more things in the desert such as camels, sheep and goats. I wanted to have a ride on the camel’s back but my father didn’t allow it. The day was well spent. I was satisfied.

Even though I feel like visiting many countries like Japan, France, Canada, Maldives and India, Kuwait will always remain etched in my heart. It is because even though I was born in India, Kuwait is where I have spent most of my childhood. It is here that I have fond memories. That is why I say Kuwait is my second homeland.
