‘Hakuna Matata’ Evening at Bhavans Kuwait

Hakuna Matata (No Worries) is the urban mantra for a stress-free lifestyle. The newly instated Staff Club of Indian Educational School, (Bhavans) Kuwait decided not to call it an evening but chill out together in the school auditorium with music, dance, drama, poetry, fashion show, and DJ because they know very well that all teaching and no fun once in a while can make even the Bhavans’ teaching fraternity dull and bushed.

The Chill Out Evening began on a yummy note with hot beverages and steamy snacks. The Bhavans family then proceeded to the dimly lit auditorium. It took only seconds to transform the otherwise somber auditorium into an enchanted land that we come across in folktales. A magical invocation dance by a learned classical dancer of the Bhavans family Ms. Deepthi Nimod invoked the blessings of the divinity with her lithesome steps. The elegance of the classical dance then paved way to musical pastiches, medleys, and heavy metal rock music. The auditorium witnessed the finest flairs of the top-notch pedagogues in the town who sang tunefully and then danced to the tunes of the fast numbers.

The humoresques then moved aside for a humorous skit staged by the kindergarten wing of Bhavans with the Principal of Jack and Jill Mrs. Rathi Raveendran playing a prominent role followed by a stage dance performance. The male members of the fraternity danced to popular Arabic tunes leaving the audience excited and flabbergasted. The Rajastani and Tamil folk dances performed by the wondrous dancers of IES also left the audience in awe.

A slew of regional songs and Bollywood songs rocked the school hall literally. A soulful poem recited by Mr. Suresh V Balakrishnan, the senior vice principal, Bhavans Kuwait touched a chord evoking the nostalgic memories of the homeland. A Fantabulous Fashion Show followed brought the beautiful ladies of Bhavans on the ramp that included Mrs. Lalitha Premkumar, the vice principal, the primary and KG wings. The fervent ambience prevailed in the auditorium then literally exploded with the DJ show led by the dancers roped in from the Rhythmscapes Academy of Lifestyle.

The mercury soared steadily with the DJ and then began to drop gradually after the DJ. The lights in the auditorium then started to wake up from their transitory snooze as the program got over. Mr. T. Premkumar, the principal, Bhavans thanked the staff club members for organizing the ‘chill out evening’ in the most amazing fashion. He praised the talented staff members of Bhavans, Kuwait for the display of their superb talents amid applause and cheer. He ended the program with a beautiful story behind the “Keep me in your prayers” something is uttered very often. The emcee of the event was Mr. E.P. Prasad (Member, the English Faculty). Mrs. Freny Abraham, the president, staff club proposed the vote of thanks. She thanked Mr. N.K. Ramachandran Menon, the chairman, Bhavans Middle East profusely for his kind gesture that helped the club host the chill out evening. She also thanked Mrs. Meenakshi Nayyar, the vice principal, CCA for her tireless endeavors that made the event truly memorable.

The staff left the auditorium as if in a trance but fully recharged and rejuvenated for the rest of the academic year with a feeling to meet once again and feel the warmth of togetherness.
