Writers Forum, Kuwait held the monthly meeting on 23rd Feb’18 in Salmiya at the residence of Mr. Umesh Sharma; the former President of the Forum. The meeting was presided over by Mr. Satya Narain; a renowned Tamil poet and Mr. Ali Chougle was the Chief Guest. Meeting was convened by Sunil Sonsi; Joint Secretary of the Forum.

In the beginning, Sunil Sonsi, on behalf of all the members of Forum, congratulated the citizens of Kuwait on occasion of Independence and Liberation of Kuwait which fall on 25th Feb and 26th Feb respectively. All the members of Forum prayed Almighty God for peace and multi directional progress & prosperity in their host country.

All the members of the Forum, also congratulated to Mrs. Maimuna Chougle for her participation in International Seminar ‘Konkan mein Urdu: Samt e Raftar’ organized by National Council for Promotion of Urdu Language.

This Seminar was conducted at Gogate Joglekar College, Ratnagiri on 10th Feb’18 wherein an honour was accorded to her for her deep involvement in literary activities

Subsequently, in the first session of the meeting Sunil Sonsi relived his memories of childhood in shape of his small article ‘Kiraaye ki Cycle’ followed by discussions thereon.

The second session i.e. Poetry session also opened with full enthusiasm. Members enjoyed the poems recited by Umesh Sharma & Dr. Radhika Bhardwaj in Hindi, Dr. Sabiah Bigrami in English, Mrs. Maimuna Ali Chougle, S. Nazar Kadpavi & Kamal Ansari in Urdu. Tushar Mishra ; the Oddiya poet presented his views on the meeting of the day.

Toward the conclusion of the program, the Chief Guest Mr. Ali Chougle expressed his view about the evening and the President of the evening Mr. Satya Narayan read out an enlightening and motivating poem for the global environment. He also appreciated the creative work of the members and encouraged them for writing more.

Members extended their thanks to host Mr. Umesh Sharma for his hospitality.
