“Your best teacher is your last mistake.”
Despite the fact, I always believe that teaching is a noble profession. Every human in this world is a student and a teacher themselves. A teacher to himself/herself and a student to their guru’s.
A well-known saying in India’s Sanskrit language says "Acharya Devo Bhava," where it means teachers are next to God. Right from the ancient times, teachers are put on the highest position. It is a highly debatable topic whether teachers should be concerned with only academics or also teach manners and etiquettes to children.
However, a teacher is an educator, mentor, a coach, and a trainer last but not the least a student themselves.
From the great teacher named Chanakya to Chandragupta Maurya. Taking him as an example, he was not only a teacher who taught Chandragupta how to read and write. Nonetheless, he was a guru who taught Chandragupta to be an ideal, respectful, and a generous human besides a ruler.
In my case, I have a few great teachers who not only taught me academics with that life lessons. First and foremost are my parents, as the saying goes, “Mata Devo Bhava, Pita Devo Bhava” where it means mother and father are next to god. From the time of birth, to an adult. Parents are our primary teachers.
In our modern culture, this title may seem odd, since most children are educated by many outside influences each day: school teachers, tutors, coaches, media sources, and others. However the exclusive role is not merely about quantity but quality. Even though outside guidance may lodge more time with the children, parents still maintain the primacy of underlining what is truly important in children’s life. Since, the power in parent’s teachings are numerous. Besides helping in homework’s, they teach us how to overcome fear, meaning of hard work, true meaning of love, they expose our inner talents to the world by training us in the path of perfectionist. You wouldn’t learn these things in schools or colleges but only from your parents.
In the second place, my teachers, take the example of my 2nd language teacher. Today is your tomorrow, with this, that teacher prepares us for the upcoming challenges in future. Not only she but every single human I met in my life is a teacher who taught one or more lessons unexpectedly.
In my opinion and others too, teachers are certainly the most significant members in our society. They give us purpose to live, makes us all set for crossing challenges to reach success, and inspires the young minds to drive to do well and succeed in life. They have the ability to form leaders of the future in the best way for society to shape positive and enthused future generations.
Every child born today is to be blossomed tomorrow and teachers have access to educate the youth in their most vulnerable years and make a child ready for their future. A good teacher is like a candle- it consumes itself to light the way for others.
When I was a kiddo, I watched a film titled Chalk and Duster. It helped identity a good and knowledgeable teacher. A teacher helps to make Scientists, Doctors, Engineers, Politicians, Business Man, Actors, IPS and IAS officers and many more... But the question is, what we give them in returns on their contribution to build a wonderful world...the movie "Chalk and Duster" is a live example for those teachers who gave their best to make the world’s young minds the best.
While concluding my piece of writing, in India, to dedicate a day to all teachers, teacher’s day is celebrated on 5th September during the birthday of our former president Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, who was a well-known scholar, a teacher and promoter of education. To all the teachers in the world, you are the spark, the inspiration, the guide, the candle to our lives. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for choosing to be a teacher to the young people.
