Sadananda Gowda urges EAM to bring back Indians stranded in Gulf countries

Asserting that no flight is scheduled to evacuate people from Gulf countries to Karnataka, Union Minister DV Sadananda Gowda urged External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar to arrange for special flights to Mangaluru and Bengaluru, to bring back the stranded Indians from the region.

In a letter to his Cabinet colleague, a copy of which was released to the media on Wednesday, he said that thousands of Kannadigas are stranded in Gulf countries.

Several representations were received from Kannada organisations regarding the Gulf countries that in the recent schedule issued by the Air India Express, no flight was scheduled from Kuwait, Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Qatar to Karnataka. Also, in the last schedule, there was no flight to Karnataka.

Don''t believe these politicians. They do politics in every thing. Simply blaming MEA is of no use. It is state govt decision for not having any international flights as it should have Quarantine facilities available to bring stranded Indians from abroad. Kerala govt huge Quarantine facilities available hence they arranged flights to Kerala from Kuwait.

Hi think Karnataka Government forgot that karnataka is in India and not europe. People of karnataka are from Mangalore and Udupi so the Karnataka government is not bothered to arrange flights for them.Better to Have new State called TuluNadu and teach Karnataka government a lesson.

This VandeBharatMission of Indian government should have been called "VandeKeralaMission". It is oblivious that Karnataka people are clearly neglected after repeated appeals to Indian Ministers and also Indian Embassy. Our outgoing ambassador HE Mr. Jeevasagar looks like not in mood of see all these issues.
Central government and Karanataka government(BJP governments) works hand in hand not to bring any people from Gulf countries to Karnataka. That too specially Mangalore MP, MLAs sleeping looks like. Mangaloreans need GULF NRIs only for their buliding projects and not at this crtical situation what they are facing like job loss, pregant womens, Children who want to get admitted higher education, resigned employees etc..
Politicians play only blame game and actions are only in assurances and words and not in reality.
In this scenario Kerala government is working in above high standards for their people and they know and showed how to respect their people at this critical time. Salute to CM.
