Re-opening of mosques in residential areas only

Resumption of prayers in mosques will be in the residential areas only and Friday prayers will not be allowed in the first stage, authorities informed.

Dr. Fahad Al-Afasy, the Minister of Justice and Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, said that the actual date of opening of the mosques will be determined after completing the preparation of the mosques in accordance with health requirements.

He explained that coordination with the Ministry of Defense was done to sterilize the mosques.

Cabinet on Thursday, announced that mosques will be opened during the first stage of the gradual return stages.

Any public gathering before vaccine is successfully administered is risky. Authorities should keep religious sentiments aside and do not surrender the logical use of their brain. So far catastrophic outcome has been avoided due to strict social distancing rules. Focus all efforts only on essentials. Prayers can be recited by muezzin alone on the mosque speakers but no need for the masses to risk their lives by gathering together. Pray from the safety of your homes.
