Even though the cabinet has declared that the visa issue will be open from October 24th, Ministry of Interior is expected to hold meetings this week to finalize the mechanism of reopening of visas for foreigners to enter Kuwait.

According to reports, the visa opening is likely to be delayed for one or two weeks until the interior ministry agree on the proper mechanism to resume visa issuing.

The Cabinet’s decisions related to issuing visas and full operations at Kuwait International Airport need one or two weeks for actual implementation, sources says.

Sources said the decision to resume the issuance of entry visas for vaccinated individuals requires several steps which could come into effect “within days” or by the beginning of November at the earliest. During the Covid time, MoI had moved a number of transaction to its online platform. Authorities are also checking the possibility of adding new visa application on its online platform.
