MP Osama Al-Shaheen submitted a proposal to open a branch of a consumer cooperative society at Failaka Island to provide goods, foodstuffs and other items to its visitors.

In his proposal, he said that since Failaka Island is an important tourist attraction, and the chalets, private properties and public facilities made it a destination for local tourism for citizens and residents. Large numbers of visitors flock to spend long times at the island which requires the travelers to carry food and consumer items to the island.

Opening of Cooperative society will facilitate the visitors to buy food supplies while spending the time at the Failaka Island.
