Winners of the various competitions held during the food festival were felicitated by LuLu management in the presence of a large crowd of shoppers and well-wishers.

The competitions, which were launched on 19 March and extended throughout the expo period, featured a Cookery Contest, Live Cookery Demo, Junior-Chef Contest, Wow the Master Chef Contest, Taste & Win Contest, Make and Eat Competition, Carving Competition, Pickles Contest and Kitchen Queen Contests.

All of the winners displayed remarkable cooking talent and skills in preparing distinct dishes. The top place winners in each segment were awarded KD 125 worth of gift vouchers, while the second place and third place winners were handed KD 75 and KD 50 worth of gift vouchers respectively.

In addition to the food competitions, the Food Expo 2017, which started on 22 March and ended on 1 April, featured various other cooking and food–based activities that drew in large crowds. Among the programs were special promotions, a live demonstration of Arabian-cooking by Chef Asmaa Al-Bahar, and an assortment of displays such as the biggest pizza, the longest egg roll and more.
